Linocut Prints
I first picked up a classic red Speedball lino cutter as a junior in design school, incorporating linoprints into my branding projects and using my newfound carving skills to gift my friends with one-of-a-kind prints. I had no formal training in the subject, and knew just enough to be dangerous, giving myself more than one cut on a finger and ruining several brayers with improper inking technique.
Years later, my friend gave me a book on the subject, and I learned how to do things the time-tested way. Turns out people do things a certain way for a reason. I’ve since upgraded my tools significantly, and I’m in the process of setting up my studio for pulling proper editions of large-scale prints.
Many of the pieces below are from my self-taught years of trial and error, but I love them all anyway.
